What is the Processing Time for a Spouse Visa?

The processing time for a spouse/partner visa application from outside the UK can now take up to 6 months due to the situation in Ukraine. This is the case for all visas to join family in the UK (applicable to spouses, partners or other eligible family members of a British national or settled person in the UK only).

Prior to this, the average processing time was 3 months (for the standard service).

The Home Office has also suspended the priority service option for expediting family visa applications being made outside the UK until further notice.

How Can I ensure my Spouse Visa Application doesn't get delayed?

The key factors (in part of meeting all of the necessary requirements) to avoiding delays with your application are that you don't have any issues with your immigration history, especially if you have applied to visit (or have visited) the UK in the past and that you provide all of the supporting documents relevant to your case. - Any documents you omit from your application, will at the worst case will lead to your application being refused entirely, or otherwise be requested by the home office caseworker which will cause further delays.
